Well, it seems i/we have got sheri addicted to another video game. That in itself is not all that remarkable - i remember when she always used to want to play Paper Mario, the Secret of Mana and Yoshi's Island - but this, this is serious.

Considering what i had to go through to talk her into trying Age of Empires 2, I never would have thought she would have latched onto it like she has. She's gone to playing at least 1 game per day (often finishing one she had started the previous day, and then starting another) and frequently asks if i'll reboot into windows and play with her.

Now, i like the game quite a bit, and we play a bit with the EP as well. Also, I've often become entranced by video games myself (my current addiction is Mechwarrior 4 - which i am trying to talk someone into playing multiplayer with me), but there's something disconcerting about hearing her randomly say "mur-der holes. he he he" from across the room and that she tells me when she dreams, little red arrows appear where everyone is walking to and the surrounding landscape goes from dark to light as it comes within view. When asked about it, she says 'I can quit any time i want to'.

All this combined with this article I found through slashdot may be cause for concern.

Well, when I first saw the medicate the bunguin under the blog, I thought someone had thought to medicate sheri to help contain her addiction. I see now that even sickness will not stop her world conquering exploits. I think the best thing to do is let it run its course, unless of course Sheri starts naming the computer opponents after people she doesn't like and then uses phrases like "You know {person X} from work, last night I slaughtered her women and children and sowed salt on her land, that will teach her to show up 20 minutes late and leave me stuck in the house by myself. HEHHEEHEHE"

Indeed, her sickness has only increased her playing time. Truly, circumstances are dire. Sheri and i have upgraded from 'Easiest' to 'Standard' difficulty and have thoroughly smote the AAI several times. When the EP gets back in town, she'll probably be joining us for even more mayhem. ~PS

I just had the AI use the exclamation "zowie." How come they never let me totally annihilite them before surrendering?

Do you feel the need to totally annihilate things often? Tony, maybe we should be more worried about the EP with this one... ...well...i guess she is evil and all... ~PS

Jared, given what we've witnessed, can you imagine what would have happened had Hannibal, Napoleon, or Alexander been women? They really seem to get into taking over the world. And not just taking over it, but completely decimating all those who stand in the way.

I destroy all who oppose me. Unless I find all 5 relics or build a wonder. Then I just fight little battles to keep them out of my space and increase my cumulative score. But in general, I destroy all who oppose me.
