WiFi? I dunno, why *not* fi?

Ok, i know my wireless router sucks, but come on.

I'm currently sitting in my living room on the lappy (because i didn't want to sit at my desk). From here I have access to two wireless networks: mine and one i presume to be a neighbor's.

It should be noted that the nearest neighbor's house is about 30ft away from ours, and the lady that lives there is in her 70's. I wouldn't figure on her being the most likely neighbor to have a wireless network. The next closest house is currently vacant and for sale. Our other neighbors are probably 70ft away or more... ...and yet here, in *my* living room, the strongest wifi signal is *not* the one coming from 20ft away in my office...

Maybe I should add a new wireless router to my christmas list...

Actually, this sort of thing is rather common in suburban neighborhoods. You see, a group of kids will rummage through the trash and find an old phone bill for an elderly neighbor. Then they call the phone company and sign her up for internet service. Finally, one night when she is out of town, then sneak in and set-up a wireless router. That way all the nearby kids can all use this neighbor's wi-fi for free. Its called the "Electric Sheep" racket. Its theorized that it started in Columbus Ohio around 2004. Some gangs even use it as an initiation ritual.

Right.... Even if i weren't 99% sure you're totally making that up *and* there weren't several holes in that plan, it STILL wouldn't explain why the signal coming from 40ft away would be stronger than the one coming from 4 feet away. ~PS

Though you do have to give the llama props for mad creativity on that one.
